Winter Browsing
January 13, 2017

Woody shrubs and trees are important food sources for deer
during the winter months. Local browse plants such as
serviceberry, dogwood, chokecherry, willow, rose,
snowberry, cottonwood, aspen, mountain maple and
bitterbrush provide winter browse. When these food sources
are covered in deep snow, Douglas-fir trees provide not
only browse, but cover as well.
