Amish Auctions May 18th and June 8th

There are two Amish auctions in the area in May and June. One is in Libby and the other is in Rexford. Both auctions are annual events.

The 2013 Annual Eagle Valley Community Auction May 18
The 2013 Annual Eagle Valley Community Auction will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 (always the 3rd Saturday in May). This event is sponsored by Meadowlark Log Homes in Libby, Montana, and supported by people from the surrounding area and other communities. The Event begins at 9AM and will feature log homes, cabins, pavilions, crafts, quilts and handmade furniture. There will also be Amish-style food including charcoal-roasted BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, cole slaw and dessert.

West Kootenai Annual Amish Community Auction June 8th
The West Kootenai Annual Amish Community Auction will be held on Saturday, June 8th in Rexford. This auction is held each year on the second Saturday in June. A portion of the auction proceeds benefit the community's private Amish Christian School.

The West Kootenai Annual Amish Auction features machinery, log homes, gazebos, log furniture, cedar furniture, hand stitched quilts, wall hangings, wood carvings, and handcrafted items. The Quilt Auction portion of the sale has a large variety of quilts made locally and sent from across the country from Amish homes. Some used items will also be on sale. Consignments and venders are welcome - call for availability and fees.

This community auction is no minimum, no reserve, truly to the highest bidder. The event begins at 9AM on Saturday. Lunch is available for a small fee, served by the Amish community. Food includes barbecued chicken, side dishes, soft drinks, ice cream, homemade pie and lots of bakery goods.

Schedule of events: 9am: starting time. 10:30 am: quilts, wall hangings, rugs & more. 12-noon: log cabins & machinery. They usually sell in three auction rings. Terms: Cash or Check in US funds.

This year the auction will be located at 250 Whitetail Drive, behind Kootenai Store & Craft in the West Kootenai, west of Rexford, Montana.

Driving Directions to the West Kootenai Annual Amish Auction:
From Eureka, MT: Take Hwy 37 West, 14 miles to Koocanusa Bridge, go west across the bridge, turn right (north) and follow the signs.
From Libby, MT: Take Hwy 37 and travel north 52 miles to The Koocanusa Bridge, go west across the bridge, turn right (north) and follow the signs.

Lodging is available in Eureka, Libby and Kalispell. They have plenty of free parking and a limited amount of space for camping.
