Bob Hosea sent in photos he took of Leigh Creek Falls and Leigh Lake in the Cabinet Mountains from a hiking trek in on Sunday, April 25th. "I wasn't able to drive all the way to the trailhead because of snow, but I did get within a half mile. And, there wasn't a lot of snow on the trail to the lake until I got up in the basin near the lake. The lake was still completely covered with ice. I was able to walk on top of the snow around the lake without using my snowshoes. By the time I left the lake though the snow had softened up a lot and I was sinking about six inches. If it had been any warmer I would have needed the snowshoes on the way out. The trail from the trailhead to the falls was pretty much open with only a few areas of deep snow in the shady areas."
