Cabinet View Fire Department hosts fundraisers
Hopes to raise at least $12,000 for sewer and water for fire station

The Libby Cabinet View Volunteer Fire Department will be holding several fundraisers between April and May to raise money for the fire hall. The Department is hoping to raise at least $12,000 which will be used to finish water and sewer work for the fire hall. At present, the firefighters are using a porta-potty at the station for their restroom needs. Water must be brought in for cooking and washing.
Once the sewer and water are completed for the building, any additional money they are able to raise will go towards completing the kitchen, showers, and finishing rooms in the fire station.
The Department currently has 18 volunteer firefighters, two of whom are only in Libby seasonally The Department has both men and women volunteer firefighters.
Upcoming fundraising events planned are:
Friday & Saturday, April 23 & 24: Rummage Sale at Cabinet View's Fire Dept.
Saturday, May 1: Car Wash at Pizza Hut in Libby
Saturday, May 15: Open House and Telethon at Fire Station, 11AM to 4PM. Call 406-293-7903 to make a pledge.
Saturday, May 22: Reading to Grade schoolers at Rosauers
The Department also gladly accepts any donations to help stock the fire hall for the firefighters. Donations of bottled water, canned goods or instant meals, cleaning supplies, plastic wrap/foil, paper goods & utensils are always appreciated.
Part of this month long fundraiser is their "Go the Extra Mile" campaign. Individuals or businesses can purchase a foot or their desired footage of a mile for $5.00 each. All contributions will be acknowledged with a tax deductable receipt. The public can purchase their footage at any of our upcoming events, by calling Betty Troyer at 406-283-1923 or Amanda France at 406-293-9341, or by mailing in donations to the fire station.
Anyone who cannot attend one of the upcoming fundraising events, but would like to donate, is encouraged to call in during the telethon at their Open House on Saturday, May 15th. Call 406-293-7903 to make a pledge. Contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated.
