Recreation information for Libby Dam August 17 -24

Outflow from Libby Dam as of August 14, 2009 is 7,000 cubic feet per second (7 kcfs) and will remain at 7 kcfs through the rest of the summer.

The current elevation of Lake Koocanusa is 2442.4 feet above sea level which is approximately 16 feet from full pool. The projected elevation for August 21st is approximately 2444.3 feet above sea level. McGillvray beach is accessible at elevation 2453 feet and the mooring dock at Souse Gulch is currently open. The current temperature of the water released into the river from Libby Dam is 54-56 °F and the surface water on Lake Koocanusa is in the low to mid 70’s.

Park Ranger, Ashley Sharp will be giving a presentation on medicinal plants on Thursday, August 20th at the library in Eureka, beginning at 5:00 PM.
