It’s Chili Time!

Fall is just around the corner and the atmosphere will be perfect for cooking and tasting chili. The Heritage Museum’s 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off will be on Saturday, October 3rd. It’s gearing up to be another successful community event.
The gates will open at 7:30 a.m. to give cooks plenty of time to combine their chili ingredients and simmer them to perfection.
Categories will be:
1. Chili with Meat, No Beans
2. Chili with Beans, With or Without Meat
Prizes in each category will be: $100 cash for 1st place, $50 cash for 2nd place, and Dinner for Two at The Venture for 3rd place.
Judging begins at noon along with a public chili-tasting. Sampling kits with cornbread may be purchased for $3.00. Proceeds will benefit the Museum. After sampling the various chilies, you can vote for your favorite. The "People’s Choice" will receive a $25.00 dinner certificate at Fiesta Bonita.
Sponsors for the event are 1st National Bank of Montana, Edward Jones, Glacier Bank, Amerigas, The Venture Inn & Restaurant, DeShazer Ryan Realty, Loveless Realty and Fiesta Bonita Restaurant.
Once again, AmeriGas is donating the propane, which is a great convenience for the contestants. Each entrant needing propane must request it on the entry form and a tank will be made available for use. A limited number of electrical hook-ups can be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Entry forms are available at the Libby, Troy and Eureka Libraries, Libby Chamber of Commerce, AmeriGas, and on the museum’s website: www.libbyheritagemuseum.org.
