New elementary school planned
To replace Asa Wood
by KLCB 1230 AM Libby News Radio
April 17, 2008

The Libby School District has announced plans to build a new elementary school to replace Asa Wood.

The district will host the first of a series of meetings April 30 at 5:30pm in the Little Theatre. The schools want all community members to join in the planning of the new facility.

Additional meetings will be scheduled on a regular basis until all the details such as need, location, and design have been finalized.

The Libby schools have down sized over the last decade, closing Plummer, and McGrade as schools, and selling the Historic Libby High School, leaving Asa Wood, the Middle School and Libby High School as the only three active school buildings in Libby. The New Central Building, once an elementary school, now serves as the Administrative offices and the alternative school.
