Flower Creek Ski Course Needs Support
by Susie Rice/Kootenai Cross-Country Ski Club
April 11, 2008

This incredible ski season is over, but one lingering detail remains.

Through the power of networking, Mark Mason has begun the process of applying for a grant through Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. The grant would be used to purchase a new snowmobile and new grooming equipment that would cut the time of grooming in half because of the increased width of the grader and track setter. We would also use the grant to purchase a trailer to be kept on the course to hold the snowmobile and the grooming equipment. This would alleviate the hassle (and deterrent) of loading and unloading the equipment from our 1982 Chevy S-10 pick up truck. [If you've ever seen the truck loaded up, you know what a puzzle it is!!]

What we need from you, the skiing public, are letters of support.

The letter should be addressed to:

Kootenai Cross-Country Ski Club
1020 Idaho Ave
Libby, MT 59923

There should be a subject line:

Grant Proposal

Please speak to:

>Your use of the ski course.
>The multi-seasonal use of the course -- I know some of you ride horses or mountain bike or hunt up there.
>The importance of a multi-use area like this for Libby.
>The variety of ages that we represent.
>Etc.!!!!

The grant has a deadline of July 1, 2008, but we'd really like to submit it by June 1.

Thanks!!!!!!

Susie
