Twelve-year-old Wyatt Postlethwaite outplayed a field of 36 competitors to take first place at the Guitar Hero tournament held Jan. 26 at the Memorial Center. Wyatt won a Guitar Hero T-shirt, CD wallet and wristband donated by game developer Red Octane along with a $25 cash prize and a trophy.

“His score of over 208,000 points on the hardest song in the game, ‘In Fire and Flames’ by Dragon Force, made it obvious he is the best,” said event organizer Greg Woods.

Rolando Gonzalez, who came all the way from Bozeman for the tournament, took second place. He received a Guitar Hero T-shirt, wristband and key chain, a free pass to the Dome Theater and a $15 cash prize to go along with his trophy.

Third place went to Mitch Postlethwaite, who received novelty T-shirt, a Guitar Hero T-shirt, wristband and key chain, a free pass to the Dome Theater and a $10 cash prize along with his trophy.

All Guitar Hero merchandise was provided by Red Octane. The Dome Theater passes were donated by the Farmer’s Market. All Trophies were made by PamCo.

“All of our competitors had a great time playing and we look forward to another tournament in the near future,” Woods said.
