A Libby 16 year old is very lucky to be alive. James Schnackenberg was struck Thursday evening by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train.

Apparently Schnackenberg and teenage companion Anna Valentine were walking the tracks near town when Schnackenberg was struck by the train, about 6pm. There is no report of Valentine being injured.

As of Saturday Schnackenberg was listed in "stable" condition at the Kalispell Regional Hospital, according to a hospital spokesperson.
