Heavy Snow Warning
In effect until 5:00 PM Monday
by National Weather Service
December 2, 2007

A warm, moist Pacific storm system will continue to move into northwest Montana and north central Idaho through Monday. Heavy snowfall amounts and strong winds are expected across portions of northwest Montana and north central Idaho. The heavy snowfall is expected to change over to rain in some areas during the afternoon on Monday before tapering off. A brief period of freezing rain is possible in some western Montana valleys on Monday afternoon as colder air trapped near the surface finally erodes away.

Total snowfall accumulations of 12 to 24 inches are expected across the area today through Monday afternoon. Libby and Troy will also be significantly impacted by this event.

The Heavy Snow Warning remains in effect until 5:00 p.m. MST Monday.

A Heavy Snow Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
