Winter Storm Watch
In effect Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon
January 4, 2007

The National Weather Service out of Missoula has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Kootenai Cabinet Region in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.

An intense winter weather system is expected to move across the area late Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon. This system has the potential to bring very heavy snowfall amounts of 8 to 16 inches with gusty southwesterly winds to the mountains and lesser amounts of 6 to 10 inches to the lower elevations.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Travelers are advised to be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
