New Kootenai Forest maps available soon June 19, 2006 Kootenai National Forest (Libby) Acting Forest Supervisor Tom Puchlerz announced that new District Maps will be available for sale sometime this summer. The new District maps will be replacing the 2005 Travel Access maps. Enhancements to the new District maps will include a larger scale for readability, contours, more color for ownership, latitude and longitude grids and other improvements. These maps will also cover travel restrictions on the Kootenai National Forest. The new District maps do not display any changes and decisions that may occur in the future as a result of the Forest’s ongoing travel management planning process. The new District maps will be available at local District Offices and the Forest Supervisor’s Office. When the maps become available, information will be posted on the Kootenai National Forest website at www.fs.fed.us/r1/kootenai.
