Big Game hunting season is here

Below are general season dates for big game hunting.

GENERAL BIG GAME
Deer and Elk Archery Sept. 3-Oct. 16
Backcountry Deer/Elk in HD's 150, 151, 280 & 316 Sept. 15-Nov. 27
Deer and Elk General Oct. 23-Nov. 27
Antelope Archery Sept. 3-Oct. 8
Antelope 900 Series Aug. 14-Nov. 6
Antelope General Oct. 9-Nov. 6
Black Bear Fall (most HD's) Sept. 15-Nov. 27
Winter Mountain Lion (hounds) Dec. 1-April 14, 2006
Fall Mountain Lion (without hounds) Oct. 23-Nov. 27
Moose Sept. 15-Nov. 27
Mountain Goat Sept. 15-Nov. 27
Bighorn Sheep Sept. 15-Nov. 27

These dates represent the "general" season dates. Be sure to check the 2005 Montana hunting regulations for the most accurate, hunting district/species-specific season dates and regulations.
